Part 1: The Basics

1. What is your full name? Sydney Katherine Sage
2.Where and when were you born? October 18, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah
3.Who are/were your parents?(Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
* Jared Sage Alchemist - Dad has always been very strict. He wants us to follow his ideals and doesn't really take no for an answer, or really anyone even disagreeing with him. Ever. He also doesn't like things he considers trivial (like Alchemists going to college).
* Katherine Sage Mechanic - I've always had a stronger connection with my mom. We share a love for cars, particularly the classics. When I had free time after my homeschooling, I would often help mom out with the cars.
4.Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I have two.
* Carly Sage - Carly is my older sister, and by birthright should have been the Alchemist in the family. Carly isn't really good with organizing things... unless it's her lipstick collection. The contacts and resources we have as Alchemists would be a nightmare for her.
* Zoe Sage - Zoe is my younger sister and desperately wants dad's approval. In fact, the last time I spoke with her, she was mad at me for what I thought was saving her from the same fate I have. I don't truly believe she wants to be an Alchemist, however, as much as I believe she wants to impress dad.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I live in Palm Springs with my fiancè, Adrian. Adrian is... well it's an interesting story, actually. He's the very thing I grew up learning to hate. A vampire. A royal vampire at that, and when I first met him he was a pretty spoiled one. He liked to party and sleep with girls... a lot of them. Since we started dating, and even some before that, he has really changed and I don't think he will ever realize just how proud I am for the man (vampire?) he has become.
6. What is your occupation? I'm an Alchemist. It's my job to keep my kind (humans) from finding out about vampires. It's not really a protecting vampires thing so much as it is protecting humans. We don't like vampires (yes, I realize that being engaged to one makes that statement a little contradictory).
7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. I'm short, which I hate and I guess I'm thin... but not as thin as the moroi (and they're tall, too, which I'm really jealous of). I have blonde hair and brown eyes. Adrian says that when the light shines on my eyes they're like molten gold. I've never really looked at myself that way, so I can't say whether it's true or not. I generally wear business casual (slacks and skirts with button up shirts and flats). My clothes are usually neutral colors (black, navy, brown). I have a tattoo on my left cheek, it's a golden lily and is only really visible when it's hit by the right lighting.
8. To which social class do you belong? Middle class. We're not rich but we're not poor either. Though being that I have recently been disowned I guess I'm more or less on my own... but I'm not hurting for anything right now.
9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? I don't get sick. It's one of the "benefits" of my job. The tattoo has... vampire blood in it and it keeps us from getting sick. We also live longer lives because of it, which I guess is good since I'm going to marry someone else who has a long life expectancy.
10. Are you right- or left-handed? Right-handed.
11. What does your voice sound like? Kinda medium-pitched I guess.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? Um... evil creature of the night? Though I've tried to stop that more recently. I don't know, ask Adrian.
13. What do you have in your pockets? A little cash and my phone.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I don't know. I guess Adrian would probably notice them most.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general? My childhood was really non-existent. I got my first chemistry set when I was 6. I was homeschooled, so the only other kids I was really around were my sisters and other Alchemist kids.
16. What is your earliest memory? Probably my dad telling me about the evils of vampires and magic.
17. How much schooling have you had? I went through all 12 years homeschooled with my dad. I was recently back for another senior year as an under cover kinda thing. I've never been to college, though I would like to.
18. Did you enjoy school? Not really. My dad didn't think that the things that interested me were all that important, so didn't really cover much of those. I enjoyed learning on my own more.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? My dad, through homeschooling and Alchemist training.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. I guess my parents were my role-models in different ways. My dad was the model of how to be a good Alchemist, but his parenting skills were severely lacking. I still wanted his approval. My mom was more the parent role-model. She was always there for me, no matter what it was.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? I got along better with Zoe than I do now. Carly and I were never really close, but we were there for each other when it came up.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A mechanic.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Working on cars with my mom and reaching about architecture.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? Quiet, submissive, very sheltered.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? I didn't know a lot of kids, so not really.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss? Adrian Ivashkov, before we started dating 3 months ago.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? No. Adrian again. A little over a month ago.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. I'm not and I will never be.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? I suppose that would be the day Adrian and came out. That was the day, or couple of days, that I really had to stand up for who I am and my choices. Before that, I would just say 'yes ma'am' or 'yes, sir' and do whatever was asked of me whether I wanted to or not.
30. Who has had the most influence on you? There has been no singular influence. My father was the one who I can attribute most of my insecurities. He constantly reminded me that I wasn't tall and thin like the vampires and that if evil creatures could do it, I should be able to to. He has also never been very generous with his approval, in fact his way of approving is to withhold judgment. He's also responsible for the job I have now. The positive influence has been Adrian. I still have a lot of work to do, but he makes me feel loved and accepted in ways I have never felt before. He thinks I'm beautiful, where my father thought I was too plain. He also doesn't judge me for my insecurities (though I'm sure he's not thrilled with them). He accepts me for who I am, even as messed up as I am.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Sorta standing up to my dad when he called me to confront me about Adrian. I can't really say I stood up (I wasn't anywhere near confident), but I made it clear that he didn't have a say in it and managed to keep my boyfriend in the process.
32. What is your greatest regret? Getting mixed up with Abe.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? I was very angry with someone for something he had done, and I got Abe to do something very horrible to him as payback.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? No.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened? The night Adrian and I were attacked by Lee and his Strigoi friends. I thought for sure I was going to die that night.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? The first time I was naked around Adrian. I wasn't very confident about my body--I'm still not, but I'm working on that.
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? I'm not sure I would change anything. I have regrets and things I'm not particularly proud of, but anything I would want to change somehow led me to where I am now.
38. What is your best memory? If I'm engaged, would it be wrong to say the day Adrian asked me out? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be engaged, but that day is a bit of a blur to me because I was so... shocked by the proposal, so while it's a good thing, it's not really a memory.
39. What is your worst memory? The night my sister came home crying about something that had happened to her.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? I don't really think I fall under either.
41. What is your greatest fear? Magic. I get panic attacks when I fill it.
42. What are your religious views? I'm Christian.
43. What are your political views? Republican, mostly, though I know more about the moroi political system than our own.
44. What are your views on sex? I used to think I was going to save it for marriage, but that didn't happen. If you truly love the person, I'd say it's okay. I don't agree for sleeping with people for sport.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? No, I don't think I could kill.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Work for a Strigoi under the belief that they would be turned.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? A few months ago, I would have said no. I don't know about soul mates, but I am in love with Adrian.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Everything I haven't done? I suppose if you're truly happy with your life, then it's been successful.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I'm not very open about them. When I'm uncomfortable about something, Adrian usually has to work to get me to say whatever it is.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Yes, against vampires and others from their world. There are very few moroi and dhampirs I like, but I'm still uncomfortable with the majority of them.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? I refuse to be around magic, as much as I can anyway. I know Adrian doesn't like that and maybe one day I can learn to handle it, but it terrifies me.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? Adrian. I don't think he would let me die for him, if he had anything to say about it, but I did give up my family for him and I don't regret it.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? I'm not great with social situations. I tend to come off as strange to most people, because I don't know the proper social cues. Socialization was never a big part of my life growing up. My father would call it trivial. I think I'm mostly polite, however.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Adrian -- If it wasn't for him, I would still be doing everything I was told. I wouldn't be my own person. In some ways, I'm still not but I'm a lot closer to it than I was before.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? My mom. She's stood by my dad all of these years. I really don't know if they're in love, or why they fell in love in the first place... but she's still with him anyway, even after recent events that have caused more problems with them. Namely, me being in not so great standing with the Alchemists.
56. Who a are your friends and describe them. Rose is sorta a friend. She's a dhampir, which I've said before that I don't really like, but we've been put in a couple of situations where we've sorta bonded. At the very least we have an understanding. My other friends are from the prep school I attended under cover. Kristin, Julia and Trey. They're the only humans outside of the Alchemists that I've spent any time with. I have to hide things from them because that's my job, but I still got really close to them in the time we spent together.
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Yes, Adrian. He's... much more complex than I first thought. He came off as the spoiled party boy who didn't care about anything else, but as I got to know him I found he has a really big heart, maybe even bigger than most humans. I know that he would never do anything to intentionally hurt me, and as a result I feel most secure and insecure around him all at the same time.
58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. Yes, I still am. I can't really say for sure when or how it happened. I was so annoyed by him at first, but then he started to become more of a friend. I didn't even know I had feelings for him until he kissed me. I'd never been in love before Adrian, and I didn't really know what to expect. I still don't.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover? I've never really thought about it before and now I'm with the man I love, so I don't think there's a need to think about it now.
60. How close are you to your family? My father pretty much told me I'm not his daughter anymore and I know Zoe will follow that. My mom and I are close. I'm not very close to Carly, but I hope that she will stand by me in my current situation.
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? No. I don't know if I want to or not. If Adrian and I have children, they would be dhampirs and I'm not sure if I could handle that. Maybe one day I will change my mind, though, we'll just have to take it a step at a time.
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? Adrian, Rose or my mom - all depending on what it was.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? Adrian. I believe he would do everything in his power to keep me safe.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? Adrian definitely. Kristin and Julia might. My mom would. Anyone else, I'm not sure.
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Keith.
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? Avoid conflict.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? No, I'm not great with social situations.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Not really, mostly because I don't know what to do.
69. Do you care what others think of you? Yes, a lot more than I should.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? Working on cars and reading about architecture.
71. What is your most treasured possession? My car, which Adrian is having shipped to Palm Springs.
72. What is your favorite color? Green.
73. What is your favorite food? I don't really like food much.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read? Anything on Greek and Roman architecture.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? Entertainment has never been a priority for me, mostly because of my dad's teaching. I really enjoy the time I spend with Adrian, though.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? No, no and no.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? With Adrian.
78. What makes you laugh? I don't laugh a lot, but sometimes Adrian makes me laugh.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? A lot of things shock me. I'm a little--okay very--innocent about most things.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? When I do have trouble sleeping, I usually watch Adrian sleep... though I don't have trouble sleeping often.
81. How do you deal with stress? I just continue doing what needs to be done.
83. What are your pet peeves? Messiness.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I don't think I really have a normal day. Sometimes I spend the whole day in bed with Adrian and others we go out and do something. There really is no routine for me anymore.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person? I'm honestly not sure. Maybe it's my ability to retain information.
86. What is your greatest weakness? My insecurities.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would be more sure of myself, and I would be more confident that Adrian won't leave me.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Introverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy? Organized.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good: Organization, school, my job
Bad: Social skills, being confident, standing up to people
91. Do you like yourself? I like myself but I don't like certain things about me.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...) I am definitely not an adventurer.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? I'd like to be worthy of Adrian's love.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Married to Adrian, still condemned to life as an Alchemist.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? I guess old age. Maybe if I could go quickly.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Tell my father what I really think of him, convince Zoe that she doesn't need to spend her life impressing dad and spend the rest of my time with Adrian.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? I'd like to be remembered for being confident, more confident than I am now.
98. What three words best describe your personality? Passive, insecure, imperfect.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? I suppose that depends on who you talk to.
100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice...) Sydney, listen when Adrian tells you how great you are and don't let your father get to you. He never saw you for what you really are and Adrian does.
